2012 Lex Mundi Member Firm Awards Winners Announced

The inaugural Lex Mundi Annual Awards were presented at the 2012 Lex Mundi Leadership Summit and Annual Meeting on May 4th in Washington D.C. This new awards program recognizes and honors member firms for their participation in Lex Mundi events and programs as well as for their referral and business development activities with other member firms.

Awards were presented in three categories:

Highest Level of Participation in 2011

This award recognized member firms with the highest participation in Lex Mundi events during 2011. Awards were given to the top firm in each of five firm size categories.

The winners were:

• 1-20 lawyer category: Mayora & Mayora, S.C, Guatemala
• 21-50 lawyer category: Tie between Nagy és Trócsányi, Hungary, and Tsar & Tsai Law Firm, Taiwan
• 51-100 lawyer category: Pestalozzi, Switzerland
• 101-200 lawyer category: Liedekerke Wolters Waelbroeck Kirkpatrick, Belgium
• 201+ lawyer category: Tie between Noerr LLP, Germany and Houthoff Buruma, Netherlands

Top Referring Firms for 2011

This award recognized member firms that have made the greatest number of outbound referrals to other Lex Mundi members during 2011. Award winners were determined from information submitted for the Lex Mundi Request for Referral Amounts Survey. Awards were given to the top firm in each of four firm size categories.*

• 1-50 lawyer category: Romero Pineda & Asociados, El Salvador
• 51-100 lawyer category: Tilleke & Gibbins, Thailand
• 101-200 lawyer category: Roschier, Attorneys Ltd., Finland
• 201+ lawyer category: Maclay Murray & Spens LLP, Scotland

Best Multijurisdictional Client Matter for 2011

This award recognized member firms for an outstanding multijurisdictional matter coordinated with other member firms for a common client. Credit was given for the size and complexity of the matter and for the number of member firms involved. To be considered for the Best Multijurisdictional Client Matter award, firms were required to submit a Successful Solution Questionnaire to Lex Mundi. Members of Lex Mundi’s Client Advisory Council served as judges for this category.

The winning matter was:

"International Distributor Receives 'Around-the-Clock' Seamless Service from Lex Mundi Cross-Border Transaction Team.” This transaction involved the following member firms:

• Clayton Utz, Australia
• Alston & Bird LLP, Georgia
• Simpson Grierson, New Zealand

The 2013 Lex Mundi annual awards will be presented at the Lex Mundi Leadership Summit and Annual Conference to be held May 9-11 in Amsterdam.

*Firm size categories are based on the number of lawyers in the jurisdiction for which the firm is a member.
