Two Lex Mundi Member Firms Receive Top Awards at the
2012 Chambers USA Awards for Excellence

Two Lex Mundi member firms received awards in their respective categories at the 2012 Chambers USA Awards for Excellence. The ceremony was held Thursday, June 7, in New York City . Lex Mundi was the principal sponsor of the event.

The Chambers USA Awards for Excellence is an annual event hosted by Chambers and Partners that recognizes and rewards America’s leading business lawyers and law firms for their pre-eminence in key practice areas and notable achievements.

The following Lex Mundi member firms received top awards:

• Morrison & Foerster LLP senior partner Kate Murashige received the Lifetime Achievement award. Morrison & Foerster is the Lex Mundi member firm for USA, California.
• Steptoe & Johnson LLP, Lex Mundi member firm for USA, District of Columbia received an award in the Energy/Projects: Oil and Gas category. Reid Weingarten, a partner with the firm, received an award in the Litigation: White Collar Crime and Government Investigations (Individuals) category.

The event yielded a strong attendance with representatives from 7 different Lex Mundi member firms seated at the Lex Mundi reserved table. Earl Austin, a partner with Baker Botts L.L.P., Lex Mundi member firm for USA, Texas, gave remarks on behalf of Lex Mundi.
