Bentsi-Enchill, Letsa & Ankomah (“BEL&A”) was founded in 1990 by Kojo Bentsi-Enchill. It is currently divided into six partner-led practice groups: Energy and Natural Resources headed by Kojo Bentsi-Enchill; Construction, Infrastructure and Transportation headed by D.K.D. Letsa; Litigation and Dispute Resolution headed by Ace Anan Ankomah (who is also the firm’s Managing Partner); Financial Institutions and Capital Markets headed by Seth Asante; Business and Industry headed by Mrs. Rosa Kudoadzi; and Technology, Media and Telecommunications (“TMT”) headed by Mrs. Susan-Barbara Adjorkor Kumapley. The firm has 20 other fee earners.
The formation of the TMT Practice Group, which covers Information and Communications Technology/ Intellectual Property (“ICT/IP”) matters, and appointment of Mrs. Kumapley to head it, reflect the importance of ICT and IP in business, and the need to give this area of law a greater structural focus in the firm. BEL&A believes that this focus will further strengthen its position as the leading corporate law practice in Ghana and enhance its ability to provide more customized services to its clients.
The firm handles an impressive array of client matters, many of which involve different departments, in its customarily interactive and internally consultative fashion with its large and stable professional staff. BEL&A tackles challenging projects creatively, conducts legal research and due diligence painstakingly, and offers fearless representation to its clients.
The corporate mission of BEL&A is to achieve and maintain excellence. BEL&A works hard at getting better in every way, recruiting high-caliber professional and administrative staff, conducting ongoing legal education, and attending and participating in seminars and conferences. In the context of consortiums, they are team players who contribute their best efforts to achieve collective goals.
BEL&A’s subsidiary, Datacenta (www.datacenta.com), has compiled a full-text database of Ghana’s legal materials—the first of its kind. Trustees Services Ltd., the other subsidiary, provides company secretarial and other trustee services to firms and individuals. |
