About The Labor and Employment Desk Book

This Lex Mundi multi-jurisdictional survey represents a country-by-country overview of some key labor and employment laws.  Each Lex Mundi member firm was asked to respond to a series of questions, regarding their jurisdiction.  The topics include, but are not limited to, family leave act, drug testing of employees, and legal obligations to an employee upon termination.

The descriptions set forth below are intended only as a general overview of the law as of November 2006.  No summary can be complete, and the following is not intended to constitute legal advice as to any specific case or factual circumstance.  Readers requiring legal advice on any of the specific case or circumstance should consult with counsel admitted in the relevant jurisdiction.

The lead editor for this survey is James Bucking, the Chair of Lex Mundi’s Labor and Employment Practice Group and a partner of Foley Hoag, LLP; Boston, Massachusetts.  The survey’s coordinator is Jami de Lou, Lex Mundi’s Practice Group Coordinator.
