Maria Traverse joined Lex Mundi in March 2008 and is part of the Professional Development team.  She has approximately seven years of experience in lawyer training and professional development.   Her primary duties include assisting Lex Mundi member firms with lawyer training and professional development initiatives, working with the Professional Development committee, and internal staff development.

Before coming to Lex Mundi, Ms. Traverse worked with the law firm of Strasburger & Price where she headed up their lawyer training platform.  Prior to Strasburger, she worked for Jenkens & Gilchrist law firm where she established their lawyer training and professional development program.
 
Her experiences include creating associate mentoring/shadowing programs, working with management to revise attorney evaluation systems, creating practice group competency benchmarking  maps, establishing internal CLE programs, overseeing  new associate and lateral hire partner integration, organizing mock trials, and working with consultants to provide specialized training for in-house lawyers.

Ms. Traverse received an A.S. degree from Austin Community College - Paralegal, a B.S. degree from Texas Tech University - Communications, MAHS degree from St. Edward’s University – Human Services/Dispute Resolution, and is currently completing her Ph.D. from Texas State University – Adult Education, Professional Development. 

Ms. Traverse currently serves on the State Bar of Texas Continuing Legal Education committee which she has been a member since 2006.
