Debra Clements is currently serving as VP, Senior General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Milliken & Company, headquartered in Spartanburg, South Carolina. In this capacity, she oversees all of the Company’s legal matters, including the company’s corporate, commercial, intellectual property, labor, transactional and litigation matters, as well as managing its compliance and ethics program. She takes pride in having helped the Company receive recognition as one of the World’s Most Ethical companies for each of the past seven years.
Prior to joining Milliken, she served in-house for 16 years in positions of increasing responsibility for Harris Corporation, a technology company headquartered in Melbourne, Florida. Her responsibilities included government contracting, as well as commercial, transactional and compliance matters.
Ms. Clements received both her B.S. and J.D. degrees from the University of Florida, where she graduated cum laude, and a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
Ms. Clements is an active member of the Florida and South Carolina Bars. She has spoken on the subjects of Business Ethics and Corporate Responsibility. Ms. Clements has been recognized as a Leader In the Law by the Mecklenburg Times, Who’s Who of the Upstate South Carolina, has served on the Advisory Committee of the Clemson University Rutland Institute for Ethics, and currently serves on the Lex Mundi Client Advisory Council.
