Lex Mundi and Professionalism: A Statement of Shared Fundamental Values — NEW! Professionalism is a distinctive set of fundamental values that shape the practices of the best law firms and lawyers around the world, including Lex Mundi member firms. Because these values are, however, abstract and sometimes difficult to express, Lex Mundi has undertaken an effort to develop a practical understanding of the guiding principles that law firms of significant prominence aspire to embody. This Statement of Shared Fundamental Values was developed by Lex Mundi to assist and encourage its member firms, as well as all firms that practice at the highest level, as they strive to embody these values in their practices.
Lex Mundi/InsideCounsel Special Resource Sections Since 2004, Lex Mundi and its member firms have produced special resource sections for InsideCounsel Magazine. Prepared by the Intellectual Property Practice Group Lex Mundi member firms were surveyed on the affect of competition law on their jurisdictions’ IP rights. The survey focused on competition/antitrust rules in respect to IP license agreements and supply/distribution agreements in order to determine if, and to what degree, there might be uniformity of application across members’ jurisdictions.

World Bank Doing Business Report Lex Mundi’s member firms have once again contributed information on corporate governance for the “Protecting Investors” chapter of Doing Business 2008, a co-publication of The World Bank and the International Finance Corporation. The 2008 publication is the fifth in a series of annual reports investigating the regulations that both enhance business activity and those that constrain it.
