2010 Lex Mundi Annual and North America Regional Conference to Include a New International Client Forum

2010 Lex Mundi Institute Programs
The primary mission of the Lex Mundi Institute (LMI) is to better equip senior associates and junior partners of member firms to work with clients on multi-jurisdictional matters and to provide new partners with the skills they need to be effective partners in their firms. The LMI provides intensive courses in subject matters not generally covered by conventional continuing legal education and academic coursework.  The LMI programs offered in 2010 are:

Cross-Border Technology Transactions  NEW! 
Saturday, July 24 to Friday, July 30

This program is designed to provide senior associates and junior partners with the skills needed to lead transactions concerning the development, purchase, sale or licensing of technology. Additionally, it focuses on refining professional skills such as negotiating, developing business and nurturing client relationships. Participants will also have a unique opportunity to network with colleagues from other countries. 

Cross-Border Transactions (Mergers and Acquisitions)
Sunday, July 25 to Saturday, July 31

The program objectives are to prepare participants to run cross-border mergers and acquisitions transactions, to enhance their knowledge and understanding of business concepts relevant to those transactions, and to develop an array of skills that cross-border lawyers need. During the session, participants will also attend courses that include advanced legal writing or drafting, negotiation, communication, business development and client relations.

Foundation Management Program
Tuesday, August 17 to Monday, August 23

This program is designed to provide new partners with the tools to succeed in their new roles as law firm partners. The program will cover a wide spectrum of issues, including: strategic planning; financial management; delegation, supervision, relationship and team-building skills; business development; professional values; advanced legal writing and editing; and presentation skills. 

Advanced Leadership and Management Program NEW!  
Sunday, August 22 to Thursday, August 26, 2010
This multi-day course, designed exclusively for those in firm leadership positions, will be held in Monterey during the week of August 21st.  The program will cover a variety of strategic, governance and economic issues in addition to discussing how to motivate professionals and lead change.
