Administrative Law
The firm consistently review administrative decisions of public sector bodies and officials in applications to the High Court of Namibia, mostly with regard to actions taken by government officials in ministries and/or parastatals.

Banking and Finance
The firm represents three of the largest commercial banks in Namibia and recently assisted a new bank with its application for a new banking license and the implementation of its new banking license to commence with their banking business. The firm has experience of a wide range of financial transactions representing both lenders and borrowers and has been involved in the restructuring of and mergers between local and/or foreign banks and provides advice on compliance with regulatory requirements to local banks and foreign financial institutions entities interested to enter the financial market.

Competition and Antitrust Law
The firm attends to merger notifications and appearances before the Namibian Competition Commission (NaCC) and contributes to various publications in this field. With thresholds for merger notifications ranging between about USD 1 million and USD 2 million, most transactions in Namibia require notification to and approval by the NaCC.

Construction and Infrastructure Law
The firm represents several major and some of the oldest construction companies operating in Namibia in joint ventures and disputes.

Insolvency The firm represents creditors, companies or individuals in distress and also liquidators, has extensive knowledge of insolvency applications, schemes of arrangement, restructuring and insolvency interrogations. Insurance The firm represents some of the largest insurance companies operating in Namibia and litigates on behalf both insured and the insurer.

The firm provides all services in trademarks and copyright and also attends to the filing of patents and designs in Namibia. Litigation and Arbitration The firm specializes in civil and commercial litigation and has been involved in both national and international arbitrations and ADR. The High Court of Namibia recently introduced court imposed and assisted mediation for several types of civil disputes.

Maritime and Admiralty Law
The firm has a branch office in the coastal town Swakopmund, close to the Walvis Bay harbor and regularly assist with the enforcement and/or the defending of admiralty claims. Mergers and Acquisitions The firm’s transactions in this area range from small private acquisitions to advising global companies on takeovers of companies in Namibia.

Mining and Energy
The firm specializes in mining law and represents some of the largest mining houses in Namibia and publishes in international journals on these topics. The firm regularly conducts due diligences on mineral licenses and mining or exploration companies and plays an active role in the development energy and environmental laws.

Property/ Real Estate Law
The firm provides all inclusive services on property and real estate law, drafts property sale and financing agreements, advises major property developers, daily attends to the transfer of properties and sectional titles, the registration of new housing and sectional title schemes and the registration of mortgage bonds, notarial bonds, leases, servitudes and other security documents.
