Article 74 of Law No. 20.212: Assigns the Agency for the Development of Electronic Government Management and the Information and Knowledge Society ("AGESIC") the task of designing and developing a national data and artificial intelligence strategy based on international standards, in both the public and private sectors. In matters concerning the processing of personal data, joint action with the Personal Data Regulatory and Control Unit ("URCDP") is required.

Decree No. 216/023: Establishes the Uruguay Innovation Hub program with the aim of promoting the strengthening of the innovative and entrepreneurial ecosystem in science, technology, and innovation, prioritizing advanced digital technologies, biotechnology, and green technologies.
