| Which agency regulates the use of AI in your jurisdiction? | The Ministry of Culture, Innovation and Higher Education forms the policy and regulation for the use of AI in Iceland. No agency has been appointed or established around AI specifically. According to Act No. 75/2021 Article 12 (2), the ECOI should monitor technical developments and be fit to tackle issues related to AI. It should also be noted that the Data Protection Authority has been raising awareness around the importance of data protection in connection with the development, deployment and use of AI. |
