One item of legislation enacted by the Ohio General Assembly in 2025 regarding AI technology was a requirement for the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce to develop by December 31, 2025, a model AI policy for K-12 schools in the state and for such schools to adopt policies on AI use by July 1, 2026. (Ohio 136th General Assembly, HB 96)
Additionally, a number of Ohio courts have adopted local rules requiring the disclosure of the use of AI in submissions made to such courts.
